Why Organic

Organic Means:

To us organic means all these things and more. Our animals get to act like the animals they are, they have healthy and nutritious food and snacks, dry shelters, room to roam, dirt to dig in, grass and hay to lie on and eat, always clean water, medical care when needed and responsible people to love and care for them. And at the end of their lives, it is extremely important to us, whether due to old age or to make our product, a quick and humane death.

Our product must be packaged and processed to our specifications. It needs to look good, contain organic ingredients, and most of all taste delicious.

Nutrition Facts

Pork contains all 9 essential amino acids and is one of the most complete dietary sources of protein. It is also a rich source of vitamins and minerals including: thiamine, selenium, zinc, niacin, phosphorus, iron, and vitamins A, B6, B12, and D. It is high in *monosaturated (good) fat and high in omega 3's.

Pastured pork is not a fast-cook meat; cook at a lower temperature for a longer time for the best flavour. Cook to 145F (63C) per USDA or 160F (71C) per Health Canada. Our Heritage Berkshire cross pork will have more fat, so save the drippings to fry other food in. Organic, pastured pork fat is a very good and healthy fat.
